Twisted Colossus is the newest and coolest kid on the block.
California has never experienced true airtime until now with the newly renovated Twisted Colossus.
Here are five reasons why you HAVE to ride this new monster.
1. THAT AIRTIME THO.
Finding airtime on most West Coast roller coasters is really hard. Twisted Colossus is meant to be an airtime machine from the moment you leave the station to when you hit the final brakes. Each element pulls you out of your seat as you travel throughout the course.
2. IT DUELS (DOUBLE TROUBLE)
There are very few coasters in the world that duel - Twisted Colossus is one of them. The park operates three trains on this ride in order to duel and designers have made it possible to experience two sides on one whole coaster.
3. ALMOST FOUR MINUTES LONG
So if there's two sides on one coaster, that means it's double the time? Yes, you go twice around this twisted madness. Beginning on the blue side and as you finished that side, you go up the lift again, but this time on the green side and you do it all over.
4. UNIQUE ELEMENTS
You'll will never find the elements on Twisted Colossus on any other coaster - except for the High Five element. The Top Gun Stall is the most unique element on the ride as one train slows upside down on top of another train passing by it, giving you that total weightlessness feeling. It was named after one scene from the movie, Top Gun. (Go Figure)
5. MODERNIZING HISTORY
Twisted Colossus was not just built from scratch. After a 36 year run, Six Flags Magic Mountain closed down their famous woodie, Colossus, in order to make it amazing once again. Thanks to technology, they were able to utilize the existing structure and make it into this mind blowing coaster.
