After 16 years of service, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's first & only wooden coaster has closed down. The coaster was built by Great Coasters International and was the first to feature the Millennium Flyer style trains. It was built longer than it's sister clone at Six Flags America due to the plot of land it was built on. Roar closed this past Sunday, August 16th which is National Coaster Day.
We rode the new addition of this year, Dare Devil Chaos (not coaster). It was a fun & quirky experience, would we recommend other parks to get it? No, but it was fun. We'd rather get an addition like Hammerhead which is a great flat ride. Also we've notice there has been bits of Fright Fest props popping up in the area. Our SFDK representative will be bring you guys a big Fright Fest update on the first day, check out for that. VooDoo has been down for most of the season and expect it to be for the rest of it. Boomerang's sign got repainted a few weeks ago and looks nice. Wild Water Safari is closed due to a pipe break but it is unknown if it will be re-open this season.
Thanks for viewing & make sure to stay tuned for more updates in the future!
